Air Spring (Air Bag) Replacement

Air bags — also called air springs — are the most common failure point in air suspension systems. A cracked end cap, torn bellows or pinched bag means the axle is riding on the bump stop or frame rather than cushioned air. We carry replacement air springs in the most common truck and trailer configurations.

Load Safety Warning: Operating with a deflated air bag on a loaded trailer transfers abnormal stress to the frame and causes uneven tire loading. Pull over safely and call us immediately if one corner is sitting low with a load on board.

Height Control Valves & Air Lines

The height control valve maintains correct ride height as load changes. A stuck or failed valve causes continuous air loss, incorrect height, or inability to raise or lower the suspension for loading. We test and replace height control valves on-site for all major truck and trailer configurations.

Air line damage from road debris, age or vibration causes slow or rapid leaks throughout the suspension circuit. We trace leaks to the source and repair or replace the damaged section on-site using correct-spec nylon tubing and fittings.

A single air bag replacement typically takes 60–90 minutes on-site, including depressurizing the system, replacing the bag, and re-pressurizing and checking the circuit.
We strongly advise against it — especially loaded. A deflated bag transfers axle load directly to the bump stop, causing abnormal tire wear and frame stress. Call us and wait for service.
Slow overnight lowering almost always indicates a leaking height control valve or slow air bag or air line leak. It is usually an inexpensive repair — the diagnostic challenge is finding the exact leak source.
Yes. Lift axle control systems, lift bags and control valves are a common service call for us on tanker and flatbed configurations.
Some configurations allow bag replacement with the truck on the ground using the air system to extend the bag. Others require minimal jacking. We assess on arrival and use the safest method available.
